Privacy and Cookie Policy
Effective 16 July 2026
Who we are
Port O' Call Boating operates this online store from 1 Bearing Avenue, Warana, Queensland 4575. This policy explains how we handle personal information and is intended to reflect the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the store, we may collect your name, contact details, account credentials, billing and delivery addresses, order and return history, enquiry content, product and cart activity, discount usage, and communications with us. Our systems also receive technical and security information such as IP address, browser type, timestamps and diagnostic logs.
We collect information directly from you when you create an account, place an order, request a quote, submit an enquiry or contact us. We may also receive transaction status from Stripe and delivery information from our shipping providers.
Why we use it
- to operate accounts, carts, checkout, payments, delivery, collection, returns and customer support;
- with your optional consent, to send up to two reminders about an incomplete checkout; each reminder includes an unsubscribe link;
- to provide quotes and respond to enquiries;
- to prevent fraud, spam, misuse and security incidents;
- to meet accounting, consumer-law and other legal obligations; and
- with your permission, to measure and improve the store using Google Analytics.
If required order, payment or delivery information is not provided, we may be unable to complete the transaction or deliver the goods.
When we share information
We disclose only what is reasonably needed to providers that help us operate the store, including Railway for application and database hosting, Stripe for payment processing, Aramex and other delivery providers for shipping, and email or communications providers. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where authorised or required by law.
We do not receive or store your full card number. Card details entered in the payment form are handled by Stripe under its own privacy and security practices.
Overseas processing
Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia. Depending on their infrastructure and your transaction, this may include the United States and other countries where Google, Stripe, Railway or their subprocessors operate. Privacy protections in those countries may differ from Australian law.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purposes above, including legal, tax, warranty, dispute and fraud-prevention requirements. Retention periods vary by record type. We use access controls, encrypted connections, payment-provider controls, monitoring and other reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting our Privacy Officer. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse a request where the law permits. We will respond within a reasonable time and explain the outcome.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
