Signs Brake Pads Need Replacing
- Replace or inspect the pads when there is low friction-material thickness, uneven wear, cracking, contamination, corrosion around the backing plate, reduced braking performance or excessive noise.
- For boat trailers, also inspect the rotor, mechanical caliper, actuating arm, cable, mounting hardware and bearings whenever replacing the pads.
