The Ultraflex 83526 T71FC is a compact single-cable planetary gear mechanical steering helm designed for Fast Connect steering systems. It uses an M66 Ultraflex cable or compatible SeaStar SSC62-style cable, features approximately 3.8 steering-wheel turns lock-to-lock, and is particularly suited to installations where behind-dash clearance is limited. A mounting bezel is required and is sold separately.

Outboard & Boat Compatibility

  • The 83526 T71FC is a steering-system component rather than an engine-specific part, so compatibility is determined by the boat's mechanical steering arrangement, cable type and engine installation.
  • The T71FC Fast Connect helm is recommended for use with engines up to 150 HP in its complete steering kits. The standalone helm documentation also notes the T71FC/T72FC family in connection with engines around 150 HP and a maximum of 225 HP; for a new installation, the boat, engine and complete steering-system ratings should therefore be checked rather than treating the helm alone as establishing a 225 HP application.
  • It can form part of suitable steering installations for compatible Tohatsu, Mercury, Mariner, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Johnson and Evinrude outboards, provided the complete steering system is correctly specified for the boat and engine.

  • The T71FC is suitable for compatible aluminium fishing boats, tinnies, runabouts, fibreglass boats, centre consoles, side consoles and other mechanically steered trailer boats.
  • Its compact planetary design is particularly useful where space behind the dashboard is limited.
